1. MEDICAL AND DIAGNOSTIC OPHTHALMOLOGY:
I have experience in (and an owner – co-owner) of the following equipment):
a. Automated perimetry. (Octopus 101) Switzerland.
b. Ophthalmic ultrasound (Nidek Japan),
c. Ocular photography and fluoroscein angiography (Kowa Japan), analog and digital
photography.
d. Corneal topography (Tomey TMS-3)
e. Pachymetry Nidek Japan (corneal thickness ultrasonic measurement),
f. Orbscan (Bausch and Lomb, USA) anterior and posterior corneal surface studies and
multiple points’ corneal thickness assessment.
g. Pentacam (Oculus Germany) anterior and posterior corneal surface studies and multiple
points’ corneal thickness assessment. Together with anterior chamber assessment and lens
study.
h. Wavescan Visx wavefront studies to measure different ocular higher order aberrations
and register iris pattern and prints.
i. Visual evoked potentials (VEPs), electroretinogrphy (ERG) and electroculography
(EOG). Conventional and multifocal Recordings.
Experience in these equipment enables to diagnose different medical retinal diseases.
2. OCULAR SURGERIES
1. Pediatric eye surgeries: squint, congenital cataract and congenital glaucoma.
2. All techniques of glaucoma surgeries (penetrating and non penetrating trabeculectomies)
3. All techniques of cataract surgeries (phakoemulsification with implantation of all types of
foldablel intraocular lenses.
4. All refractive surgical techniques: phakic AC intraocular lenses implantation Verisyse
(IRIS CLAW) , Implantable contact lenses (ICL),
5. Refractive lens exchange and clear lens extraction

6. Laser vision correction: standard and customized wavefront- guided corrections. To
correct errors of refraction like myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. And to correct high
order aberrations.
7. Phototherapeutic keratectomy to remove superficial opacities of the cornea using excimer
laser Visx system.
8. Penetrating keratoplasty to remove dense central corneal opacities.
9. Some oculoplastic procedures like dacryocystorhinostomy and silicone intubation. Also
the same technique could be done through the nose with the nasal endoscope and an ENT
surgeon.
10. Intravitreal injection techniques of combination of antibiotics for ttt of early
endophthalmitis, intravitreal injection of Bevacizumab (Avastin) and traimcinolone
acetonide (Kenacort).
11. INTACS (Intra corneal rings) implantation for cases of keratoconus
12. Ultra violet Riboflavin corneal collagen cross linking for cases of early keratoconus.

1. Argon laser photocoagulation for iridotomies, iridoplasty and trabeculoplasty, panretinal
photocoagulation for proliferative diabetic retinopathy and focal and grid laser ttt for
diabetic macular edema.
2. Yag laser iridotomy and posterior capsulotomy for posterior capsule opacification after
cataract surgery.

April 2005. I have presented a video presentation about combined therapeutic penetrating
keratoplasty, cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation in a case of
descematocele impending to perforate.

been selected in the session of difficult and challenging cases titled: « Combined
phakoemulsification and penetrating keratoplasty
in a case of dense cataract, leucoma adherent and non-dilatable pupil ».

international health academy and the American Academy of CME (continuous medical
education)
24. Attending and presenting in the annual conference of the Egyptian Society of Cataract
and Corneal diseases (Escacod) at 12-13 February 2009, at Cairo in collaboration with the
Italian Society and the Indian Societies of cataract and refractive surgeries. My
Presentation was about: Manual versus transepithelial laser removal during cross-linking:
could it be a factor to reduce scarring and tendency for keloid formation ?
25. Organizing the first InterArab universities conference for developing students’
participation in upgrading the education and performance. The title of the conference was
about: “Role of information technology and quality in upgrading healthcare and
education”. Besides organizing the conference and training the students, I have presented a
paper about: what is the world doing nowadays and how it is thinking. The conference was
at March, 12-13 , at Suez Canal Uuniversity, Ismailia, Egypt.
26. The Annual winter meeting of the Egyptian Ophthalmological Society, at March, 18-20 ,
2009 at Cairo. I was a Moderator in the course titled: Lasik: what is new ?

27. The 21th Annual meeting of the Egyptian Society of Ocular Implants and Refractive
Surgery (ESOIRS) 6-8 May 2009. Presenting two papers. 1. Combined Instrument and
posterior assisted levitation of nuclear fragments during phakoemulsification after
posterior capsule rupture. 2. Mannual versus laser epithelial removal during corneal crosslinking. Could it be a factor to reduce scarring ?.

a. LKC (an USA company in Washington producing equipment for diagnosis of ocular
diseases) to train doctors in Qatar
b. Future technology Egypt Co., agent of Tomey branch in Germany, to train a Saudi

c. Amico to Train an eye doctor lady from Syria for electrophysiology of vision procedures
(VEP-ERG-EOG).
